This October we’re partnering with Polished Man, an initiative run by Bank Australia Customer YGAP that calls for an end to violence against children.
The Polished Man campaign encourages Australians to take a stand and commit to ending violence against children by painting one nail in the month of October - a nail that represents the one child that dies every five minutes as a result of violence.
We know that family violence is an issue that our customers care about* and want to see the bank take action on, so we encourage you to join us in a collective effort to raise $30,000 to help end violence against children.
For anyone who signs up to the Bank Australia team, we’ll contribute $10 to your individual fundraising efforts after you’ve raised your first funds (no matter the amount!) And, if you reach $100, we’ll throw in another $10. Together, our ability to create a positive impact is stronger.
Funds raised through Polished Man are channelled into trauma prevention and trauma recovery programs for children who are at risk of or have suffered violence. These include YGAP impact entrepreneurs running ventures that target a root cause of violence against children - poverty - or provide emergency relief to those who have fallen victim to physical and/or sexual violence. Funds are also provided to trauma recovery agencies around the world including the Australian Childhood Foundation, SAMSN, Hagar Australia and the New York Centre for Children.

*Surveys conducted in 2016 and 2018 with a representative sample of Bank Australia customers showed family violence to be one of the leading issues of importance for our customers.
