Conservation Reserve

Our largest Impact Fund investment is the Bank Australia Conservation Reserve, a 927 hectare private nature reserve that is protecting important woodlands and wetlands habitats as well as 13 threatened native animal species.

Working in partnership with Greening Australia and Trust for Nature we are using evidence-based conservation planning to inform our vision and strategy for this project. Read more here.

Woodlands and Wetlands Trust

We are supporting the Bettong Buddies program which takes hand raised endangered Eastern Bettongs into schools to educate and inspire students. The program helps teach students about the importance of biodiversity and conservation.

The Eastern Bettong has been extinct on mainland Australia for over 100 years. In 2012, 30 Bettongs from Tasmania were reintroduced to a predator-free sanctuary in Canberra, Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary, which is now home to over 200 Bettongs.

Other environmental initiatives

Through our 2016 and 2017 Impact Fund Customer Grants we supported a number of projects aimed to support the planet and environmental conservation. All of the funded projects are run by Bank Australia’s community customers. Read more about how to apply here.
