We’re supporting Sustainable House Day

Sustainable House Day is a fun and inspiring national event that helps people discover practical, proven ways to make their homes more efficient, affordable and climate-ready.

The event is coordinated by Renew, a membership-based, not-for-profit organisation that has been working to transform Australian homes for climate and energy resilience since 1980.

We’re proud to be principal partner for this year’s Sustainable House Day.

Lot 93: one of the parcels of the Daintree forest HalfCut and its strategic partners Rainforest 4 and the Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation want to purchase this year. You can help them protect this precious rainforest forever!

Why are we getting behind Sustainable House Day?

As a customer-owned, B Corp bank, we’re guided by a responsible banking policy – and we take action on issues our customer tells us they care about, like climate.

The majority of our emissions come from our residential mortgage portfolio. As part of our climate action strategy, we’re focused on supporting our customers to buy, build and retrofit efficient, all-electric homes.

Step into open homes across Australia

“On Sustainable House Day, real people open real homes across Australia. Step inside architect-designed sustainable builds, clever retrofits, all-electric upgrades, efficient apartments and climate-resilient rebuilds. Tours are relaxed and conversational, with homeowners sharing what they did, what it cost, what worked and what they would do differently.”

According to Renew, 70% of past attendees plan to make changes to their own homes within six months of visiting a Sustainable House Day open home.
