Bank Australia appoints Steve Odgers as Chief Customer Officer

Bank Australia has today announced the appointment of Steve Odgers to its executive team in the newly created Chief Customer Officer role.

With significant experience in the banking sector in Australia and Asia, Steve will have responsibility for leading Bank Australia’s customer service, retail distribution, retail operations and deposit, payments and insurance products.

Steve joins us after over 20 years at ANZ Bank where he held senior leadership roles across distribution, operations, strategy, technology and transformation. Most recently leading major transformation programs across ANZ’s retail and customer service operations teams. Separately, Steve will continue to sit on the board of Thorne Harbour Health Ltd, where he is Director and Chair of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee.  

Bank Australia Managing Director Damien Walsh welcomed Steve to Bank Australia, highlighting his deep banking experience and track record of delivering improved customer experience.

On his appointment as Chief Customer Officer Australia Steve said that he was excited to be joining an ambitious, purpose driven bank.

Steve is a Graduate of the AICD, holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and has completed the Executive Program in Digitisation and Industrialisation at MIT Sloan School of Management in Boston.

Steve will commence with Bank Australia on Monday 20 November 2023.
