2017 Community Customer Grant recipients

Zoe Support Australia

Zoe Support provides holistic, place-based support for young mums in Mildura to reengage them in education.

The organisation received an Impact Fund Customer Grant in 2016 and 2017.

Since 2012 Zoe Support has assisted more than 100 young mothers by providing a socially inclusive environment with connection to peers, support workers and the community. A number of their initiatives address barriers to social connectedness, civic life and pathways to education and employment.

In 2016 the organisation helped about 70 young mothers.

Increasing demand for Zoe’s services led to the opening of a fourth club and a new childcare centre.

With the funding Zoe Support Australia was able to cover the costs of computer and study equipment in a new mother’s study club.

67% of young mums accessing Zoe Support are now engaged in education. The organisation also provides pre-accredited training with Zoe Learn Local for courses including cooking, sewing and small business numeracy and literacy, while many young mums are completing secondary or tertiary education.
