Bank Australia has confirmed its commitment to action on climate change by becoming a founding partner of the Victorian Government's TAKE2 pledge.
TAKE2 encourages people and organisations to act on climate change and help keep the temperature rise under two degrees.
Our pledge page lists actions that we're taking and planning, like:
- Setting a renewable energy target – our target is to switch to 100% renewable electricity by 2020
- Planting trees on our property to absorb carbon emissions – we run our own Conservation Reserve, on which we offset emissions related to our car loans*
- Buying carbon offsets for our business – our operations are carbon neutral
People and businesses in Victoria can make their own TAKE2 pledges to act on climate change.
The actions you can pledge as an individual include turning leftovers into new meals, buying solar panels for your home, riding to work or growing your own food at home.
To pledge and find advice on how to reduce pollution that causes climate change, visit the TAKE2 website.
Our customers have told us that they want us to act on climate change by reducing emissions. By making the TAKE2 pledge, we're building momentum for more collective action on climate change.
*In 2017 we changed the way we offset emissions associated with our car loans. More information on how we offset our car loans is available here.
