Meet our new Bank Australia Ltd Board

On 1 July 2025, we officially commenced operations as a single entity – Bank Australia Ltd – becoming one of the largest customer-owned banks in the country.

The merger of Bank Australia and Qudos Bank brings together nearly 900 employees, over $18 billion in assets, and almost 300,000 customers. Guided by a shared commitment to people, planet, and purpose, our merger creates a stronger and more sustainable bank that puts customers at the centre of everything we do.

Jennifer Dalitz, Board Chair said: "We’re excited to launch this new chapter together. “The successful merger is a testament to our shared values and unwavering commitment to customer-owned banking. I’m proud to lead a board that is made up of equal representation - ensuring our approach remains balanced and inclusive."

Deputy Chair, Steve Ferguson said: “This is a significant milestone that positions us strongly for the future. The focus of the board is to ensure a smooth transition for customers, invest in digital technology that enhances customer experience and continue to deliver meaningful impact for people and the planet.”

Who is part of our board?

Our new board has 10 non-executive Directors, with equal representation from both Bank Australia and Qudos Bank – reflecting the merger of equal partners approach we’ve taken. Together, our directors bring a diverse mix of skills and experience across finance, governance, innovation, sustainability and community leadership.

Jennifer Dalitz, Chair

With deep expertise in retail banking and wealth management, Jennifer first joined Qudos Bank’s board in 2019 and has served as Chair of the Qudos Bank Board since 2023. She also serves as Director, iPartners; Trustee, The Australian Museum; and a Graduate of Company Directors Course from the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Steve Ferguson, Deputy Chair

Steve joined Bank Australia’s Board in 2020 and was appointed Chair in 2023. A former EY senior partner, Steve brings extensive financial audit, risk and governance credentials. He also serves on the boards of General Reinsurance, QBE, and BackTrack.

Joe Dicks

Joe is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years in finance, agriculture and aged care. A director at Qudos Bank since 2020, Joe adds strong sector experience and governance oversight.

Anne Marie O’Loghlin AM

Joining Bank Australia in 2015, Anne Marie has a long history of financial management and directorship roles, including as HESTA CEO and TelstraSuper Chair.

Barry Jackson

A Qudos Bank appointment from 2015, Barry is a Qantas A380 Captain and former President of the Australian and International Pilots Association.

Anthony Healy

On the board since 2021, Anthony is CEO of the Australian Business Growth Fund, with prior roles at NAB, ANZ and Bank of New Zealand.

Clare Mazzetti

Clare joined Qudos Bank’s board in 2020. A former management consultant, she has led regulatory and growth initiatives and served on the Police Bank board.

Simon O’Connor

Appointed November 2024, Simon is a leader in sustainable finance. He was previously CEO of the Responsible Investment Association Australasia and is a University of Melbourne Honorary Fellow.

Sally-Ann Williams

Joining the board in 2020, Sally-Ann has extensive experience spanning deep tech, technology transformation, innovation & entrepreneurship, and inclusion – stemming from roles at Google and Cicada Innovations.

Dr Marcus Thompson AM

A director since January 2023, Marcus is a retired Major General in the Australian Army and brings extensive cybersecurity and strategic risk management experience. He holds a PhD in Cyber Security and multiple degrees in engineering, business and strategic studies.
