Branch closure - Sydney, New South Wales and Melbourne CBD, Victoria. Following the Government’s announcement of stay-at-home restrictions, we've decided to temporarily close our Sydney CBD branch and Melbourne CBD branch. We’ve made this decision to limit the potential risks to our customers and staff and to support the efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the areas under stay-at-home restrictions. While the branches are closed, we’ll be able to help you over the phone on 132 888 Monday to Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday 9am – 2pm AEST. View details

Is there anything I can do to improve my credit rating?

You sure can – here are some actions you can take to help improve your credit score:

- pay loans, credit cards and bills on time or set up direct debits

- redirect bills when you move

- close accounts you don’t need

- don’t apply for multiple loans or credit cards in a short period of time

The credit reporting bodies Bank Australia works with also have tips on how to improve your credit score: please visit Equifax (formerly known as Veda) and Experian advice. Credit smart also offers some great advice.

It’s also a good idea to check your credit report regularly, to make sure there aren’t any mistakes that could be affecting your credit score. And, if you do find a mistake, make sure you ask Bank Australia or the relevant credit reporting body about it.
