March is B Corp Month: Celebrating businesses creating change (like us!)

Photo journal

For-purpose businesses across the globe are championing progress, and this month you’re invited to explore #BehindtheB – meaning discovering what makes B Corporations tick, and… what is a B Corp anyway?

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

As a customer-owned bank with a world-first Conservation Reserve, we understand the importance of walking the walk when it comes to investing and lending for good, not harm.

We were proud to become B Corp certified in 2020.

Our promise of responsible banking and commitment to clean money are values we use as a guiding light. We never lend to harmful industries like fossil fuels, weapons or live animal export – and we actively support environmental protection, community projects and clean energy transition.

Every year we contribute up to 4% of our after tax profits to our Impact Fund, and from this we provide grants and invest in projects that create change. That’s part of what makes us a B Corp.

Together with our customers we’re creating the world that future generations deserve.

Check out our Instagram or LinkedIn for more about being a B Corp, and explore the hashtag #BehindtheB for other inspiring B Corp organisations striving to create a better future for all of us.
