Branch closure - Sydney, New South Wales only. Following the NSW Government’s announcement of stay-at-home restrictions, we've decided to temporarily close our Sydney CBD branch between Monday 28 June to Friday 27 August. We’ve made this decision to limit the potential risks to our customers and staff and to support the efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the areas under stay-at-home restrictions. While the branch is closed, we’ll be able to help you over the phone on 132 888 Monday to Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday 9am – 2pm AEST. Thanks for your continued support during this difficult time. Please take care of yourself and others during this period. View details

What is Bank Australia’s SWIFT code?

Please find following information and account details to forward funds via SWIFT transfer from an overseas account to your Bank Australia account:

***Important information to note about Incoming SWIFT Transfers***

  • The SWIFT method of transfer is the only method that can be used with the account details supplied in this email.
  • The BIC code contains within it Bank Australia's BSB number and if the BIC code is not used then the payment will be returned prior to reaching Bank Australia. If there is no BIC code field option, please include the BIC code in the reference notes/comments section of the SWIFT transfer to make sure it appears somewhere on the request. This may also be referred to by international banks as a "Routing Code".
  • Some systems do not accept the "XXX" in the SWIFT of CUSCAU2SXXX. Please note, CUSCAU2S will still be accepted and identified without the "XXX".
  • If a foreign currency is being sent rather than AUD - Australian Dollars, the intermediary SWIFT of "NATAAU3303M" via the National Australia Bank (NAB) must be included. If not, the transfer will be rejected.
  • The intermediary SWIFT (NAB) may charge a fee to process the transfer. We are unable to advise what, if any, fees would be if they do charge as they are subject to change, but it would be deducted from the transfer funds before it arrives at Bank Australia. Please note, Bank Australia does not charge a fee to receive funds from overseas.
  • Please use all of the banking details. Missing information may result in delays or rejection. This may lead to foreign currency conversion losses and/or additional fees and charges.
  • Transfers from overseas usually arrive within 3-6 business days but this timeframe is only an approximation and a guide only. Timeframes can vary depending on many factors such as the country of origin, what currency is sent etc.
