Positive change for people and the planet: our 2024 Impact Report

We’re proud to share our latest impact report, which outlines our annual performance and how our customers and employees help us use money as a force for good through our everyday banking, lending and investments, impact strategies and impact fund.

Here are some highlights from this year’s impact report:

  1. Our total assets grew by $1.2 billion, to a total of $11.7 billion

Growing our assets helps ensure a strong and sustainable future for our business, so we can continue to deliver value for our customers and positive impact for the world.  

  1. Our impact finance assets grew to $2.2 billion and 19.1% of our total assets

This year our support of projects like Women’s Property Initiative offering affordable housing options and Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (ETNTAC)’s property purchase for carbon farming activities have made significant progress towards our target allocation of impact assets.

  1. We launched our first Nature and Biodiversity strategy and our First Nations Recognition and Respect strategy  

We choose to focus on 4 impact areas that are consistently identified as top priorities for our customers when we survey them. These include climate action, affordable and accessible housing, nature and biodiversity and First Nations Recognition and Respect. Launching these two latest strategies reflects our commitment to taking action aligned with our customers’ values.  

  1. We invested over $300,000 in caring for our conservation reserve  

Working alongside our partner organisations Greening Australia and Trust for Nature and Traditional Owners the Wotjobaluk Nations represented by Barengi Gadjin Land Council, our scientific monitoring and conservation activities are helping protect threatened animal and plant species.

  1. We launched our Electrify Your Home pilot to help customers get off gas  

A key element of reaching our 2035 net zero target is supporting our home loan customers shift to all-electric homes. Our pilot program provided tools and guidance to do so, feedback has been positive and we’re now focused on improving and scaling up the program.

  1. We provided $195,560 in grant funding to 12 community customer organisations, social enterprises and small businesses

Our community customer grants program has provided over $2 million in funding to 149 projects since it began in 2016. This year’s recipients included organisations working to create change for people with disabilities, supporting gender equality and LGBTQ+ community-building, First Nations philanthropic advocacy, inclusive music workshops, circular waste management systems and wildlife rescue.

  1. Customer satisfaction stayed high at 88.2%

We were also happy to receive 4 wins at the Mozo People’s Choice Awards including Outstanding Customer Satisfaction, Excellent Customer Service, Highly Trusted and Most Recommended. We were also named in Forbes World’s Best Banks list at number 2 in Australia, and won Finder Green Bank of the Year for another year running.
