What’s happening?
To ensure the highest level of security for your accounts, we are updating our notification system. You'll receive more email alerts (and app push notifications if opted in), to keep you informed about your account activities and protect you from potential fraud and unauthorised access.
Why are we making these changes?
In a time when scam and fraud activity is increasing, these enhanced notifications are crucial for maintaining the security of your account. By keeping you informed about these key activities, we can help you quickly identify and respond to any unauthorised actions, ensuring your account remains safe and secure.
New Notification Triggers
Here are the actions that will now trigger mandatory email alerts (and app push notifications if opted in) :
- Adding/Saving a New Payee: When you add or save a new payee through the ‘Manage Payees’ feature in our app.
- Paying Someone New and Saving the Payee: During a transaction, if you pay someone new and choose to save them as a payee.
- Paying Someone New Without Saving the Payee: During a transaction, if you pay someone new but do not save them as a payee.
- Changing Your Internet Banking Password: When you change your password by logging into Internet banking.
- Password Reset Advice: When you follow the forgotten password process to set a new password.
- Registering the App to a New Device or Re-registering on the Same Device: This includes first-time app registration, de-registering and registering again on the same device, or registering to an additional device.
- Changing the App PIN: When you initiate a change to your app PIN.
- Internet Banking Lockout: If your account is locked out due to multiple unsuccessful login attempts.
